Part Time Saturday Assistants

As a part time weekend assistant you are vital to the running of our busy salons, helping to deliver a high level of customer care, which we pride ourselves on at Headmasters. As an assistant you are educated within the salon in all working aspects from client consultations at the backwash, scalp massage, assisting stylists and colour technicians plus helping to maintain a high quality of salon aesthetics. You will be offered a full insight into all professional elements of a busy high street salon and introduced to qualifications such as a Foundation Modern Apprenticeship/NVQ level 2 which you can achieve with Headmasters on entering full time employment.

Full Time Assistants

Once choosing to embark on a full time career with Headmasters you will be helped all along your journey to achieving your coveted Foundation Modern Apprenticeship/NVQ Level 2. Working 4 days a week in our award wining salons you receive 5 hours structured training, plus one day a week, day release to our Headmasters academy where you work towards your formal qualifications. The education is delivered over 15+months culminating in a presentation of your new fantastic skills to the senior management team.

Stylists

As one of our stylists you will be given a column to start building your own client base. With the help of our highly skilled reception teams and active marketing strategies it will not be long before you have a strong clientele. With our unique Headmasters training scheme your skills will be continually developed and updated, focusing on trends, new techniques, and personnel development courses too. All our luxurious salons have a buzzy, creative atmosphere, where you will develop as a hairdresser. Plus with our commission based salary system you will always be rewarded for your efforts.

Art Team Work

At Headmasters we have a successful and award winning art team, regularly working on London Fashion week, magazine features, catwalk shows and travelling the world as part of L’Oreal’s renowned education team. After a short period of time you can apply to join the team and work with them on stimulating and interesting work within the hairdressing industry. You can assist in producing the group’s renowned imagery plus teaching others within Headmasters new techniques and tips learnt from the ever-changing hair and fashion industry.

Educator

As your career develops you may find that you enjoy passing your skills onto others. We can help you develop your skills into teaching our full time assistants at our academy. As a Headmasters educator holding NVQ Level 2 qualification plus 5 years occupational expertise, you can progress to a D32/33 or A1 qualification, gaining the prestigious certificate in Education. This enables you to be a trained assessor. If you wish to progress to the highest level, after 18 months of assessor experience and with a V1/D34 qualification you can qualify as an internal verifier.

Assistant Manager

As your client base increases and you progress along our career path you may wish to further your experience with a view to running your own Headmasters salon. In our salons we encourage a strong management team. Supporting the salon manager you can help with the day to day running of a busy salon. It’s fun and exciting as two days are never the same. Along with your personal development Headmasters offers all sorts of management courses from educational workshops and modules that will help guide you to the understanding of the business side of the industry.

Manager

Following Headmasters unique career path you could become a Headmasters manager by the age of 21. The majority of Headmasters salons have at least 20 stylists with the larger ones in the group having 50 members of staff. As a manager you will be responsible for the continual growth of the salon, education, motivation and the well being of your team. With the ever-present support from our highly experienced management support team you will never feel alone. With the growth and expansion of the company there are fantastic opportunities to progress to a manager anywhere in the UK. Our managers are extremely well respected within the industry not only for their hairdressing skills but their all round business knowledge.

Premier Partner

Having now run a successful Headmasters salon there are fantastic opportunities for you to own your own Headmasters salon. With the full support from property buying, salon design, accounting, marketing, PR and recruitment the world is your oyster.
